Professor De Hert is the Director of Research at the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Ghent University Hospital in Belgium since 2011. From 2007 to 2010 he was the Chair of Division of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anaesthesiology at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Previously, he was Vice-Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University Hospital of Antwerp, Belgium. His research, teaching, and consulting interests are in both clinical and basic aspects of patient safety and cardiovascular physiology. Stefan is the current President of the European Society of Anaesthesiology (2018-2019).

His research, teaching, and consulting interests are in both clinical and basic aspects of patient safety, transfusion and clotting, innate immunity, cardiovascular and critical care medicine. Kai will serve as President of the European Society of Anaesthesiology in 2020-2021 and practices Anesthesia/Critical Care Medicine in Frankfurt.

Daniel Arnal is an anaesthesiologist at the Hospital Universitario Fundacion Alcorcon, Spain, and is Chair of the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA) Patient Safety and Quality Committee. Dr Arnal is co-founder and immediate past president of the Spanish Anaesthesia Incident Reporting System (SENSAR), Chairman of the Patient Safety Movement Foundation (PSMF) Regional Network for Spain and Latin America and Vice-president of the Quality, Patient Safety and Ethics of the Spanish Society of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation (SEDAR). His publications and scientific interests focus on Patient Safety and he is co-editor of the Spanish Anaesthesia and the Critical Patient Crisis Manual. As a clinical simulation instructor, he participates as a faculty member in the IDEhA Simulation Centre (Alcorcon), SENSAR as well as in continuous education programs on patient safety for the ESA.

Professor Hölscher studied medicine in Germany and became a board-certified surgeon in 1984. He was the Secretary General of the World Congress of the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE) in Munich for three years before becoming Assistant Professor at the University of Munich. He later specialized in Visceral and Thoracic surgery. Between 1996 and 2016 Arnulf Hölscher was Chairman of the Department of General Visceral Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the University Hospital of Cologne, which is the largest centre for esophageal surgery in Europe. Since 2016 he is Emeritus Professor and Consultant at the Centre for Esophageal and Gastric Surgery at the Markus Krankenhaus in Frankfurt.

Ingrid Bing Andersson has been the Swedish representative to International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists (IFNA) since 2004 and is in her third term as the 1st Vice President. She is a member of the Education Committee of the Swedish Association of Nurse Anaesthetists and Intensive Care Nurses and has been working as a clinical teacher since 2004 in Intensive and Perioperative Care, in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, at Lund University, Sweden.

Jackie is a board member of the G4 Alliance for Surgical, Obstetric, Trauma, and Anesthesia care, and a member of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiology Global Anesthesia Workforce Study Group.

Jozef Kesecioglu is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at the University Medical Center, Utrecht in the Netherlands. He completed his medical education and training in anaesthesia and intensive care at the University Medical School of Istanbul, Turkey. Professor Kesecioglu was Chairman of the Ethics Section of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). After finishing his term, he worked in the Executive Committee of ESICM as the elected Chair of the Division of Scientific Affairs. In 2016, Jozef became President Elect of ESICM. His term as President runs til October 2020.

Marco Greco has been President of the European Patients’ Forum since 2014.  He was chairman of the European Federation of Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis Associations (EFCCA) from 2008 to 2014. He was the founder of the EFCCA Youth Group, and its leader from 2003 till 2007.  He was appointed as patient representative by the European Commission in the Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) from 2013 to February 2019. He has recently been selected as patient representative to EMA’s Management Board for a three-year term starting on 15 June 2019.  He holds a degree in Law from UCSC MILAN and a Ph.D. in Law and Religious Freedom. He is currently working as an attorney in his law firm.

He previously worked as Reader and Clinical Director at the Adult Critical Care Department of St George's Hospital and the University of London. He has been very active in clinical research in intensive care, anaesthesia, perioperative and emergency medicine. He has been focusing on hemodynamic monitoring and optimisation, physiology of the critically ill patient, epidemiology of perioperative outcomes and data science. He served as Chair of Scientific Affairs of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and has recently been appointed President-elect for 2020-2021. He hosted  ESICM's Big Data Talk & Critical Care Datathon  in Milan in February 2019.

Pascal Rod is a Registered Nurse and a Registered Nurse Anaesthetist in France. He is one of the founders of the International Federation of Nurse Anaesthetists (IFNA), he is a Past President and is IFNA’s current Executive Director. He has represented IFNA and nurse anaesthesia as a specialty in various meetings and organisations, such as the European Specialist Nurses Organisation, the WHO Global Initiative for Emergency and Essential Surgery and Care (GIEESC), the G4 Alliance and the International Council of Nurses. Pascal has also represented specialist nurses at the European Medicines Agency, and he represents IFNA on the Liaison committee with the European Society of Anaesthesiology and the European Board of Anaesthesiology.

Petr Horák is the Director of the Pharmacy at the University Hospital Motol and a part-time lecturer at the Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education in Prague, Czech Republic. He joined the Board of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) in 2012 and is currently serving as President. He is responsible for the development of the existing projects of EAHP, to further strengthen hospital pharmacists' contribution to patient care and patient outcomes.

In addition to managing a secretariat team in Brussels, he represents the organisation internationally and supports the EPF Board and Membership. Prior to taking up his post at EPF, Dr Khan was Executive Director at the European Health Management Association.  A health policy and management professional, with more than 25 years’ executive level experience within the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, Usman spent over a decade working in academia, before moving into health and social care consulting in 2000. He has held a number of high profile non-executive positions in health and social care and currently holds academic positions at George Washington University and New York University (London).
